Malachi 4 by solar flare/ CME August 12th. May 9th this year is Iyar 1. Iyar 1 is the day of the original pentecost, 50 days after Jesus went to the cross. It is also the day the Moses was given the law. 50 days after the first Passover. So Iyar 1 is both grace and law. 95 days later this year and this year alone is the 9th of Av, which is August 12th. Greetings from Paraguay. Why do you call yourself 'Bereans" when you don't follow in their footsteps? The term "rapture" was created to divide what Paul directly calls the event... "the resurrection of the dead".. 1Cor 15:42 into multiple events... Thus the terms "rapture" and "second coming" or second advent were conjured out of thin air for the purpose of division, redirection and deception. The term "resurrection of the dead" maintains the focus on the dead... whereas the new fangled term "rapture" redirects the focus onto the living. No Scripture mentions the replacement terms. The direct lie of the rapturist is that Paul reveals this brand new event they call the rapture... referencing 1 Cor 15:51,52... however, Paul directly refers to this event 9 verses prior as the resurrection of the dead. The resurrection of the dead is mentioned throughout Scripture. First noted in Job 14:12 we are told, "Man dies and does not rise again until the heavens are destroyed. Jesus then repeats Job and tells us that the heavens will be destroyed.. and of THAT DAY... no man knows the day or the hour. Again we are flat out lied to by the rapturist and told that no man knows the day or the hour of an event they tell us occurs 7 years prior to the heavens being destroyed. 2 Peter 3:10 then repeats Jesus and tells us that Jesus comes like a thief in the night when the heavens are destroyed with a great noise. Again.... no rapture 7 years prior that would create a countdown to when Jesus would come "like a thief in the night..." Rev 20:4-6 then informs us that those martyred for not taking the mark are resurrected at the FIRST resurrection ... Rev 20:4-6. Every argument for a rapture is birthed out of deception. Jesus, Peter and Paul all warn us of this deception... Matt 24:3,4, 2 Peter 3:15-17, 2 Thess 2:1-3.

I'm glad when Protestants mention the Bereans. The fact that the Bereans searched the Scriptures (OT) is NOT a proof-text for their Bible-alone practice, and is instead the opposite. Yes certainly, the Bereans searched the Scriptures (a very worthy practice indeed!). But look what they did NEXT. Unlike the Thessalonians who stuck to their "Bible-alone", the Bereans did the OPPOSITE to "Bible-alone". They accepted the Oral teaching of the Church through St Paul IN ADDITION to their Bible, they got baptized, and they submitted to the Church as their Final Authority. The Bereans were the Catholics, because their authority-paradigm was the Catholic paradigm: Written Tradition(Scripture), Oral Tradition, and Church as Final Authority.

I appreciate these messages about preterism, etc. Sometimes I don’t have 1 to 3 hours for all the detail and would respectfully like the bullet points. If Jesus/Yeshua returned in the first century, where does that leave us? Has the 1000 year reign already taken place? (The math doesn’t match up.) Are we in the little season? Are we waiting for another judgement, destruction of earth and new heaven to come to earth? When saved Christians die these days, do they go to sleep in the grave or go on up to heaven?

And if you're going to argue that the numbers and totals given throughout the OT are "symbolically hyperbolic," then why can't an anti-preterist argue the same with regards to the "near and dear time texts" in the book of Revelation? IOW, why shouldn't we take these temporal adverbs as mere "symbolic litotes/understatements" that were used by the biblical writers to describe mere spiritual nearness, or mere spiritual soonness, rather than as literal temporal descriptions of what was about to take place?

So why is it that we should take the "thousand years" in Revelation 20 as symbolic of the 40-year period between Christ's passion, resurrection, and ascension that took place in AD30 (not AD26), until the final destruction of the old covenant in AD70; but not as symbolic of an indefinite and very long period of time? If the "thousand-year" symbolism can work to prove 40 historical and astro-chronological years, then why can't it also be used to symbolically prove many vast ages of years? And why didn't John just use the numerical phrase in Revelation 20 of "forty years," instead of the "thousand years" phrase he did use? If you want us to take the "time texts" in the whole book of Revelation seriously, then you really need to take the symbolic "time texts" seriously as well. And trying to shorten a "thousand years" down to "forty years" is just as bad as those anti-preterists who don't take the other "literal" time texts in the book very seriously.

Fulfilled soon doesn't entail a punctiliar and "one-and-done" kind of fulfillment. And none of the "time texts" indicate that this was going to be the case, either. For example, Rev 1:1 does NOT say, "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show to His bond-servants, the things which must soon take place, AND WILL NEVER TAKE PLACE AGAIN; and He sent and communicated it by His angel to His bond-servant John." This kind of short-sighted and punctiliar approach to prophetic fulfillment is not what biblical fulfillment is all about. Biblical fulfillment is all about God continuing to fill up what He has already fulfilled, but in bigger, better, and more glorious kinds of ways. Fulfillment in the Bible is never about a "one-and-done" type of fulfillment. You're actually defining and using fulfillment in the Bible in the SAME EXACT WAY that Partial Preterists approach this issue, and in the same way that Dispies approach this issue. No bueno, my friend.

I agree with your preterist timing of all this. However I respectfully disagree with you on the definition of the Great Tribulation. The Great Tribulation was not the Jewish War, it was the persecution of Christians by the Romans starting with Nero and continuing for over 200 years. Matthew 24:9 and 21 are talking about what would happen to the Christians after they flee Jerusalem. Revelation 7:9 and 14 are talking about people from every nation who have faith in Christ who are coming out of the Great Tribulation and being taken to heaven. And in Revelation 1:9 John identifies himself as a victim of "the Tribulation" , having been exiled to Patmos by Nero. The Great Tribulation was a persecution against the people of God that has never been surpassed (Matthew 24:21). The Great Tribulation is expounded upon in Revelation 13 through 14 which describes the persecution of Christians by the Roman Empire government (the Beast) beginning with Nero (666).

Sorry brother, but your private interpretation does not interpret scripture. This is not describing the resurrection of Christ. How could it when it plainly states its referencing those martyred for Christ during the tribulation? Mentions nothing about Christ's resurrection. 1Co 15:23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 1Co 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.

You can't say you know another person needs Jesus. You might be the one who needs Jesus far more than anyone you know. It is not at all clear that Jesus meant to say that he was the only path. Why do you think he would have said it's not me it's the father, etc etc on several occasions? There is a difference between Jesus and God because Jesus was born about 2020 years ago and God existed before that. Christians are often not good people. Christians have done a lot of violence and a lot of damage in the name of Christianity. If you can't see that there are at least a few Jews who might actually be better people than at least a few Christians, etc etc and you can swap labels with Buddhists and Muslims if you like. This ought to be basically evident to everyone, hence it is not time and it's not God's will for everyone to identify as Christian at this time. I'm not denying the evil that underlies the non-biblical Jewish culture and beliefs, I'm Chestnut throwing the baby out with the bathwater when it comes to the Jewish religion and what can be gained when a faithful and prayerful person commits themselves to living in accordance with Divine law however they see that. They're not perfect and neither are Christians and there is a lot to be learned from different groups just observing each other.

hmm, could it be that the reason john doesn’t include the binding of satan in his gospel is because his narrative of when satan is bound is different? Im not saying john denies and contradicts the synoptic narrative of how satan was bound rather seems john wants us to focus on how satan was bound in another sense. in other words the way satan is bound in the synoptic gospel is different then how he is bound in the apocalypse and john wants us to be able to distinguish between them. consider these differences in the synoptics, Jesus after receiving the spirit proves him self strong then Satan, because of this Satans spiritual power and influence over believers is restrained. however in the apocalypse it is Satans power and influence over the nations that is restrained. it is restrained after the church’s wandering in the wilderness for 40 years. we see in all the Gospels including acts and even in the apocalypse and other Johannine literature up until the 1000 years satan still has power and influence over the nations, that is the world, and he uses that power to persecute Christ and his Church. notice the distinction in the two narratives. this is why john doesn’t include the exorcist narratives in his gospel because he wants you to focus on a different binding, a binding that restricts Satans power over the world and reduces persecution so the reign of Christ can be fully manifested on earth.
